Juniors Black Belt Club
This is an Advanced Class: By Invitation Only, for Purple Belt and above
What teens and pre-teens need:
a confidence-building environment
free from negative peer pressure
encourages self-expression, creativity, and positive personal growth.
These dedicated young people have declared their intention to achieve junior black belt status. The Juniors Black Belt Club is by invitation only and open to serious students ready to work and train with more focus and attention to detail.
This advance martial arts class prepares students for future black belt testing.
They also have an opportunity to join the Leadership Team, gaining essential leadership skills and mentoring younger students.
The Junior Black Belt Club focuses on teens gaining a highly proficient skill set and conceptual knowledge of the defensive side of Wing Chun Do.
They receive an introduction to the Wing Chun Wooden Dummy, physical safety skills, mental health and wellness, obstacle course training, and weekly weapons training. High energy and camaraderie-building class make learning fun and exciting.
Small class size gives your children greater attention from their instructor and allows for a tailored approach to their personal growth and development.

What are the benefits of joining the Ambrose Academy leadership team?
Access to specialty classes, events, and a chance to join the Leadership Team allows teens to practice mentoring and develop leadership skills. Children interested start as part of Beginning Leaders program. As they gain experience and success, they are invited to join the Leadership Team. The juniors' self-esteem and personal growth increase significantly. Children look up to them, and parents see them as a trusted allies. They are role models that every other child wants to emulate.

Children’s Specialty Classes
Class seminars, 6- to 10-week courses, and other specialized training

Weapons and Forms
Weapons forms training offers an exciting and self-driven new challenge of learning a form such as a broadsword form, nunchaku, or long pole form. This class challenges your child’s memory and concentration, allowing them to increase and extend body awareness when using their weapon of choice. They learn lessons of fluidity and grace to create aesthetically visual and powerful performances. Excellent self-esteem-building class for children that enjoy solitary practice and self-reliant activities.
Stranger Smart© Safety Awareness Program
Stranger Smart© Safety Awareness Program presents children with practical tools for dealing with strangers. In our program, using "The Five Rules to Safety," children recognize the "red flags" of potentially dangerous situations and what to do about them. Presented in a fun and entertaining way, this interactive stranger awareness class allows children to practice and retain valuable information that will keep them safe. Presented as a free show at Ambrose Academy every spring and fall, reminding the children walking to school or playing in the summer to be "Stranger Smart." Endorsed by teachers, administrators, and district commissioners.
Children in our Kid’s Marital Movement and Wing Chun Do classes get Stranger Smart© training throughout the year.
Smart Girls Street Smarts© Courses
Smart Girls Street Smarts© is a 8-week or 10-week enrichment program that focuses on safety awareness, self-esteem and confidence, preventative safety measures, and personal protection physically and mentally for teen and pre-teen girls. This class empowers girls by “cluing” them in on the tactics used to undermine their autonomy, safety, confidence, and self-esteem. Confidence levels are equal for boys and girls until 12 years of age. But studies have shown that between the ages of 8 and 14, girls’ confidence levels nose-dive by 30 percent. This course mission is to help girls retain or regain that confidence level. Learn More.
Awesome Creatives Activities Classes
Creatives Activity Classes are fun classes where your child learns a new skill and gets to express their personal creativity. These classes give our students an opportunity to socialize with their peer group in fun and creative activities. These classes are presented throughout the year.

Wing Chun Do utilizes the science of biomechanics to help students discover their natural strength and the science of physics to deliver the power and speed necessary for self-protection. We must be true to our mission of the goals of creating safety and security for all our students and staff.
So if you want to find a place that looks at safety and security as stringently as you do as a parent, talk to us and become a member. Our facility has a new HVAC system, two air scrubbers, an overnight ozone generator, and sanitation stations. We sanitize all surfaces that students may encounter after every class and require mask-wearing for all members.

For Kids Ages 7-9 - Uniform, school patches, dedicated shoes that they carry in and carry out (non-marking shoes), foam nunchaku, and bag.
For Juniors Ages 10-12 -same as above, plus Arm Pads & foam Escrima/Kali sticks
For Teens Ages 13-15 - same as above, plus add gloves, headgear, and wooden sword.
All: Children bring their own drinking water in a spilled proof container. Children should have their own PPE masks when walking into the building.
Equipment is available for purchase at the school or pre-order for pick-up at class time. (shoes are not included)

Presently, class size is limited to twelve children for Kids Class ages 7-9 and sixteen for Juniors Class ages 10-14.

It's hard for families to schedule multiple classes when they have more than one child. For your convenience, we schedule the age-specific classes so they run concurrently.

Of course! Ms. Liz loves working with this age group. She has been teaching this cool group of Lil’ Dragons for twenty years. “They’re the most fun, straight-forward and joyous people on the planet!”

Ambrose Academy put in a new HVAC system in 2021, with two UV air scrubbers, an ozone generator overnight, and several sanitations stations.
All surfaces that students have contact are sanitized after every class.
Changing rooms are closed and students must come in dressed for class. As always, street shoes are not allowed beyond the shoe hall. Dedicated shoes, used only for class, should be carried in and carried out.
PPE is worn correctly by students, parents, and instructors while in the building.
